Robert Hamilton McMenimon, age 68 of Hingham, formerly of Randolph and Easton, passed away suddenly on November 12, 2017. He was the devoted husband of Kate (McGonnigle) McMenimon for 45 years. Bob was the loving father of Shana McCarthy and her husband Ryan and Rob McMenimon and his wife Courtney. He was the cherished grandfather of Jack, Katie, Robby, Ellie and Maggie.
Bob was born in Boston, a son of Jean McMenimom and the late William McMenimon. He grew up in the family’s Flying Locksmith business in Randolph working alongside his father and brothers.
He met his beautiful wife Kate on July 20th 1969, the same fateful day man first walked on the moon. They married on June 3rd 1972. In 1981 they started Mac Systems, a security integration company which they ran together for 27 years before selling to Siemens in 2008.
“Papi”, as his grandchildren lovingly called him, spent most days playing golf and spending time with his family - his two passions in life. He loved “grinding it out” with his many, many friends on the golf course at Thorny Lea, Black Rock or The Mid Ocean Club in Bermuda.
Bob & Kate loved to travel and were fortunate to explore far-off places and have had many extraordinary adventures together. They also loved taking their children and grandchildren on fabulous vacations filled with a lifetime of wonderful memories.
He is also survived by three brothers Bill, Barry “Buzz” and Brad McMenimon and two sisters Kelly Rizzuto and Tracy McMenimon.
His love for his family and friends was so vast, and he will be so sorely missed.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton of Friday 4-8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul Church 147 North Street, Hingham Saturday at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made to Boston Children's Hospital, 400 Longwood Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
