John E. Martin age 78 of Canton passed away November 14th at the Norwood Hospital. Born and raised in Canton, he attended Canton High School and graduated from Stoughton High School. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era and a member of the Easton VFW. John worked for Trelleborg Company in Randolph as a Chemical Tank Operator and also worked for Plymouth Rubber in Canton for over 40 years and for Emerson and Cummings in Canton. John enjoyed spending time with his family, walking at Borderland State park with his wife and his Yorkshire Terriers- Tobey, Maggie, and Molly. He was also a member of several Car Clubs and enjoyed driving his Corvette Stingray.
Beloved husband of Mary D. (Oldham) Martin. Father of Stacy Lori and her husband Jeff of Raynham. Son of the late Theodore and Florence Martin. Brother of Gail Martin of Stoughton and the late Theodore Martin. Brother in law of John Oldham and his wife Betsey and their children Abby, Brandon, and Trevor all of Mattapoisett. Cousin in law of Constance Alger of Norfolk. Also survived by several cousins. Relatives and friends invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday from 5-7 pm. The visitation will be concluded by a brief prayer service and Military Honors. Burial private.
