FALL RIVER… Joanne (Silvia) Picard, 70, of Fall River passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
She was the wife of Norman Picard.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Hilda (Medeiros) Silvia and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. Picard was a communicant of Good Shepard Parish. She was employed as a hairdresser for many years at Expertease Hair Salon in Fall River, as a Home Health Aide for Medical Resources from 2007 – 2017 and as a Bus Monitor for Fisher Bus Company from 2014-2017. She enjoyed playing Bingo.
Along with her husband, survivors include her son: Jason Picard and his companion Patricia Ormston of Fall River, 2 brothers: Richard Silvia of Somerset and Kenneth Silvia of E. Providence, RI, 2 grandchildren: Mikayla N. Picard and Lindsey A. Picard, a niece and a nephew.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday at 7:45 PM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723. Calling hours will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:45 PM prior to the service. At the request of the family her burial will be private.
