Lloyd Scoggins, 85 of Sycamore passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Tift Regional Hospital.

Born on October 1, 1932 in Turner County to the late Howard Odell and Vada Estelle Freeman Scoggins he was a retired self-employed mechanic and citrus grove owner. Affectionately known as "The Tractor Man" he served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany in the division of "Hell on Wheels" working on Army tanks. He was a charter member of Berea Baptist Church in Palm Harbor, Florida. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Sycamore where he served as a deacon, a member of the adult men's Sunday School Class and served on the housing and grounds committee. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Along with his brothers, he built a cabin in Montana.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Strickland Scoggins of Sycamore; son, James L. (Pandy) Scoggins, Jr. of Belgrade, Montana; daughters, Julie Isabelle of Acworth and Dede (Dr. Louis) Manzella of Canton; brothers, Major Doyal E. (Mary) Scoggins of Jesup, Georgia and Kenny Scoggins of Waynesville, North Carolina; sister, Faye (Dick) Sheard of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; grandchildren, Michael (Amy Catherine) Manzella, Noelle (Richard) Manzella Rich, Noah Manzella, Gabbi Manzella, Jennifer Isabelle and Kyle Isabelle; great-grandchildren, Will Manzella, Austin Rich and Justin Rich.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Faye Scoggins, a son-in-law, Cliff Isabelle and a brother, Marvin O. Scoggins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church. The family will greet from 1:15 PM to 2:15 PM. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Sylvan Memorial Park in Clearwater, Florida.
