Mr. Arthur Stansfield, a longtime resident of Andover, passed away at the Sutton Hill Center Nursing Center on October 21, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was 78 years old.
Arthur was born in Danvers, Massachusetts to the late Vera and Ernest Stansfield and was raised alongside his four siblings Carol Daley, Mary Jane McCulley and the late Virginia "Ginny" Stansfield and Ernest "Jake" Stansfield Jr. He served in the United States Marines and married his beloved wife Annie Stansfield in the summer of 1967. Arthur went on to work as a truck driver for J.R. Sousa and J.P. Noonan, a lifelong career that he enjoyed until he was forced to retire due to illness in 1997.
Arthur is survived by his wife Annie and his children Kimberly Holman and her husband Peter Holman of Lunenburg, MA, Arthur Stansfield Jr. and his wife Lee Stansfield of Lunenburg, MA, Susan Stansfield and her partner Devin Gutierrez of San Francisco, CA, Peter Stansfield of Andover, and his adopted son Robert Lapinski and his wife Kristina Lapinski of Norton, MA. He was a proud grandfather of Emily Holman, Sophia Holman, Nicholas Stansfield, Brett Lapinski, and Kyra Gutierrez. Arthur will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humor, kindness, and loving nature.
