Doherty, Mary Lou of West Roxbury passed away peacefully on October 21st, 2017 at home surrounded by loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved mother of Michael B. Morris of Roslindale. Loving daughter of Helen (Barrows) Doherty and the late Richard L. Doherty of Roslindale. Niece of the late Dorothy Dickinson of Florida. She is survived by her brothers Robert J. Doherty of Buzzards Bay, Richard P. Doherty and his wife Barbara Barrett of Dedham, Kevin W. Doherty of Ashburnham and Steven J. Doherty of Florida. She is also survived by her niece (who she was more like a mother to) Kerry A. (Doherty) Teixeira and her husband Kyle and great niece Kenadie of Cumberland, RI. She was the former wife and loving friend of Robert Cataldo of Roslindale. Also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Wednesday, October 25th at 9am. followed by a Funeral Mass at the Holy Name Church at 10 o'clock. Visiting hours Tuesday 4pm - 8pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Interment Mt. Benedict Cemetery.
