Emily (Rec) Rodrigue, age 96, a lifelong resident of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Life Care Center of Raynham. She was the beloved wife of the late Roland L. Rodrigue, who died in 2003.
Born in Taunton, MA on June 28, 1921, she was a loving daughter of the late Simon and Agatha (Cuirczak) Rec.
Emily grew up, and was educated in Taunton and was a 1939 Cum Laude graduate of Taunton High School. Prior to retiring, she had worked at the former Reed & Barton Co. in Taunton for twenty-eight years. She retired in 1983 with the position of an inspector.
Emily’s family was the love of her life and she treasured the times spent with them and being a big part of her granddaughters lives. She was a communicant of the former Holy Rosary Church in Taunton, enjoyed cooking and when younger, taking long walks with her late husband Roland.
She is survived by loving and devoted daughter Nancy M. Figueiredo and her husband Anthony of Taunton. She was the adoring grandmother of Michele Havens and her husband Schuyler of California and Lindsay Savageau and her fiancé Stephen Mitchell of Assonet. She was the cherished great grandmother of Summer, Devon and Peyton. She was the dear sister of the late John, Stanley, Henry, Sophie, Bertha and Helen. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, including Helen Correia and Bertha Florence, both of Taunton.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday, October 23rd at 11:00 A.M. at the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St. (Off Route 140, Tremont St.) Taunton. Deacon John Fitzpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
Visitation will be held prior to the services on Monday morning beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the Taunton Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Emily’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
