SPRINGFIELD – Thomas Patrick “T” Foley, 59, a longtime resident of the East Forest Park section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Monday, October 16, 2017. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on June 25, 1958 a beloved son of Thomas R. Foley of Springfield and the late Ann Marie (Mahoney) Foley. He was raised in Springfield, graduated in 1977 from the former Classical High School and lived in Springfield before moving to Longmeadow. He furthered his education and in 1978, he attended Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts. In 1982, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Government from Clark University in Worcester. During his college years, he served as an Intern for the late Thomas P. “Tip” O’Neil the longtime Speaker of the House. Upon graduation, he worked as an Aide for the late Congressman Edward P. Boland. Tom was also Vice President of Government Affairs for Travelers and lastly was a self-employed consultant. He was an avid New England Sports Fan and loved “March Madness” and the Celtics. He was a Friend of Bill W. Besides his beloved father, he leaves his beloved daughter, Jacqueline P.A. Foley of Longmeadow; his loving brothers and sister, Christopher D. Foley of Princeton, MA, Ellen M. Foley and Kurt Dahdah, of Agawam, Timothy C. Foley and his wife, Elizabeth, and Peter M. Foley and his wife, Katie, all of Springfield; his dear sister-in-law, Susan Foley of Oakham, MA; his cherished nieces and nephews, Shannon Foley and her fiance, Salvador Saldana, Lauren Robillard and her husband, Travis, Christopher Foley, Andrew Foley and Olivia Foley; his dear aunt, Patricia “Pat” Rivest and her husband, Paul, of Springfield; and his many dear cousins, friends and extended members of the Foley and Mahoney families. His Funeral will be held on Monday morning, October 23, 2017 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield , MA 01107 (funeral home will open at 7:45 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. His Burial will follow the Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA 01129. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, October 22, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. His family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Sisters of Saint Joseph, 577 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104 or the Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
