CHICOPEE – Janet A. (Richardson) Laing, 86, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, October 9, 2017. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on March 11, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late William H. and Loretta M. (Prince) Richardson. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from Holyoke High School and moved to Chicopee in 1956 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed for many years at the former Holyoke Savings Bank. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Chicopee. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Frank L. Laing. She leaves her two loving sons, Jeffrey A. Laing and his partner, Deborah Magni, and Steven J. Laing and his wife, Anna, all of Chicopee; and her four cherished grandsons, Jeffrey A. Laing and his wife, Kelly, Jason A. Laing and his wife, Erica, Steven J. Laing, Jr. and Daniel T. Laing. Her family will receive friends on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
