Robert A. "Bob" Cox

CHICOPEE – Robert A. “Bob” Cox, 63, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, October 6, 2017. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by all the memories that he loved and cherished. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 3, 1954, a beloved son of James B. Cox of Knoxville, Tennessee and the late Doris L. (Mason) Cox. He was raised in Knoxville and received Bachelor’s Degrees in Arts and Political Science from the University of Tennessee through a track and field scholarship. Bob was employed for many years as a Restaurant Manager at the Burger King Restaurant on Liberty Street in Springfield. He and his wife, Cathy, formerly owned and operated the Burger King Restaurants on Parker Street and also on Boston Road, both in Springfield. In addition to his loving father, he leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Catherine A. “Cathy” (Paolucci) Cox. They were blessed with over 28 years of happiness together. Bob also leaves his two loving sons, Nathan R. Cox and Trevor J. Cox and his wife, Lindsey, all of Knoxville, TN and their mother, Marylaine Driese of Texas; his two loving daughters, Courtney M. Cox of Wilmington, NC and Marissa M. Cox of Chicopee; his two brothers and his sister, James Cox, John Cox and Laura Walker and her husband, Bob, all of Knoxville, TN; his two brothers-in-law and his sister-in-law, Steven Paolucci and his wife, Lori, of Agawam, James Paolucci, Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Chicopee and Linda Lussier and her husband, Bruce Lussier, Sr., of Easthampton; and his many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Cox and Paolucci families. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot is located at the rear of the funeral home. His Funeral and Burial will be private at the convenience of his family.
