Benjamin Paul Thimas, 83, of Taunton, passed away after a long illness at Wedgemere Healthcare on October 1st, 2017.
Born in Carver, son of the late Henry and Cecelia (Lopes) Thimas. Former husband of Julia Hollis Thimas of Taunton.
A Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army, Benjamin worked for many years in construction. He enjoyed fishing in his earlier years but most of all he enjoyed music and dancing.
Survivors include his children, Kevin Thimas, Benjamin Thimas Jr. and Marcia Richardson, all of Taunton; sister, Priscilla Thimas of Middleboro; grandchildren, Naomi, Deidra, Carmen, Kevin, Christopher, Malik and Taijon; great grandchildren, Liam, Madison, Justice, Titus and London; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was also brother of the late Arlene Lopes, Henry Thimas and David Thimas.
Visitation will be held Friday from 8:30am to 9:30am, at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, with Funeral Service to follow in Baptist Church of All Nations, 61 Winthrop St., at 10:00am. Interment to follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Wareham.
