CHICOPEE – Michael L. Stone, 48, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, September 30, 2017. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on October 21, 1968, a beloved son of Geraldine P. (Provost) Stone of Chicopee and the late George P. Stone, Sr. who was Called Home on November 5, 2004. He was raised in Chicopee, was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. He furthered his education and attended Holyoke Community College. He was the owner and operator of the Michael Stone Siding Company for many years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved listening to music and enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends. In addition to his beloved mother, he leaves his three loving brothers, Tommy P. Stone and his fiancée, Jennifer Duffy, of Chicopee, George P. Stone, Jr. and his wife, Deb, of West Topsham, VT and Kenneth R. Stone and his wife, Liz, of West Springfield; his cherished nephew, Nickolas K. Stone; his cherished niece and goddaughter, Samantha Rose Stone; his cherished grand nephew, Carsen M. Stone; his caring godmother, Pattie Bednarczyk; his two dear uncles, Leon and Sonny Provost; and his many additional dear uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and extended members of the Stone and Provost families. His Funeral will be held on Friday morning, October 6, 2017 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Assumption Church, 94 Springfield Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. His burial will be private at the convenience of his family. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral home parking lot and main entrance are located at the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
