Jerry Carlson

Jerry F. Carlson, age 74 of Prosser, entered into rest on September 28, 2017 at Sunnyside Community Hospital due to complications from cancer. He was born in Missoula, Montana on July 31, 1943 to Frank R. and Marie E. (Shea) Carlson and was raised and educated in Miles City, Montana. After graduating from high school, he attended Carrol College and Montana State University where he studied civil engineering. He joined the Navy in October of 1962 and was honorably discharged in October of 1966. He served as an electronics technician at the US Naval Communications Station in Washington D.C. After his discharge, he worked in California as an electronic technician.

In 1978, he moved to Otis Orchards, Washington and worked for American Sign and Indicator, Itron and retired from Servatron, Inc. in 2009.

Jerry’s favorite pastimes were reading, listening to music, attending the Spokane Symphony and hiking the Spokane hills. He was also a big fan of the Spokane Transit and traveled all over Spokane on the bus.

Jerry is survived by his sister, Ann M. Roth; niece, Amy A. Roth; great niece, Ashley Marie; great nephew; Mason James of Prosser; and also good friends Bob & Zeta Tobler and Ann Jacobson of Spokane, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank “Frosty” and Marie Carlson and brother-in-law, James “Jim” Roth.

At Jerry’s request, there will be no public services.
