WORCESTER: Bridget (O’Rourke) Reddick, 84, died peacefully at home on
Tuesday, September 26, 2017, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
She leaves six daughters, Barbara Sanders and her husband James of Holden, Rhonda Termini and her husband William of New Port Richey, FL, Dorothy Lindberg and her husband David of Holden, Diann Newman of Worcester, Cheryl Rabouin and her husband Kenneth of Auburn, Heather Reddick, with whom she lived; 11 grandchildren, Andrew Reddick, Fred Termini, Mandie Termini, Brieann Cicero and her husband Mark, Robert and Alyssa Newman, Colleen, Katherine, Brian, Joseph and Thomas Lindberg; 7 great grandchildren, Logan Cicero, Shalees, Alannah, Andrew and Taliesin Reddick, Destinee and Carlos Perez; and several nieces and nephews.
Her sister Mary O’Rourke and four brothers, Michael, John, Patrick and Andrew O’Rourke, all predeceased her. She was born and raised in Milltown, County Clare, Ireland, daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret (Halloran) O’Rourke and emigrated to Worcester in 1954.
Bridget worked as a Teacher’s Aide in the Worcester Public Schools for 19 years until retiring in 1997. She was a recipient of the Thomas Jefferson Award for support and contributions to the staff and students at Harlow Street School.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a longtime member of
St. Bernard’s Church, now known as Our Lady of Providence Parish, where she was involved in many church activities including coordinating Bingo and serving as a religion teacher. She most enjoyed watching the Red Sox, listening to Irish Music and spending time with her family. She will be fondly remembered for her tremendous wit and sarcasm.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ninan Polackal for his care of our Mom for the past 12 years. They would also like to thank The Jewish Healthcare Hospice Program, especially Marjorie and Emily for providing their care and support.
CALLING HOURS will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on THURSDAY, SEPT. 28, at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln Street. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 9:30 A.M. on FRIDAY, SEPT. 29, at ST. BERNARD’S CHURCH, 228 Lincoln Street. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA.
