Deborah A. (Davin) Sperre, age 64, of Marshfield, died peacefully surrounded by her family on September 16, 2017 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Deborah was the loving wife for 37 years of Dr. Brian C. Sperre and the daughter of the late Frank P. and Mary A. (George) Davin. Deborah was raised and educated in Brockton, and was a 1971 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School. Following her graduation from Boston College in 1975 with a degree in elementary education, Deborah was employed in the East Bridgewater School Department as a speech therapist for 30 years, retiring in 2006. She then began a second career at Talbots in Hingham center, where she enjoyed working with her many friends and clients.
Deborah thoroughly enjoyed entertaining family and friends and decorating for the holidays. She also enjoyed cooking and trips throughout New England, particularly Ogunquit, Maine. She was a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association, Massachusetts Teachers Association and East Bridgewater Teachers Association.
In addition to her husband, Deborah is survived by her sister Margaret F. Davin and brother Francis P. Davin and his fiancee Laura Mather all of Brockton. She is also survived by her aunt and godmother, Lee Roukous, and her uncle, Manthala George Jr., both of Brockton, and several beloved cousins and their families.
Deborah’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Ursula Matulonis and her team at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Unit 6 for all their care and compassion for Deborah throughout her illness.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte. 123) Brockton, Wednesday 4-8 pm with the Service of Incense at 6pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home Thursday at 9am for the Service of the Divine Liturgy at Saint Theresa Maronite Catholic Church at 10am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
