Rita Anne (Doyle) Foley 83, of Canton died peacefully the morning of Sept 5, after a brief illness. Rita was born and raised in Dorchester, attending St. Peter's parochial school and Jeremiah Burke High before relocating with her family and graduating from Stoughton High School as a member of the Class of 1951. She lived most of her life in Stoughton before moving to Lamplighter Village in Canton upon her retirement. Rita was a proud member of the Amvets Post 1977 Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She is survived by her sons Shaun (and April) of New York, David and his wife Robin of Stoughton, and Ross of Brockton. Also survived by granddaughters Christine Ryan and Jessica Foley, grandson Jonathan Foley, and great-grandson James Baker, as well as her sisters Marie Irvine of West Bridgewater, and Jeannie Black of Maine. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Eva Doyle, her former husband John Foley, and her siblings Jack, Tom, Betty, Sally, and Billy.
