George F. “Jeff” Rodenbush, III age 67 of Brockton, died Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was the devoted husband of Jayne J. (Norman) Rodenbush. Jeff was born in Portland, Maine and raised in Brockton, a son of the late George F. “Chick” and Jayne J. (Maguire) Rodenbush and lived in the city for most of his life.
Jeff was a 1968 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School and received his Bachelors degree in Marketing from Stonehill College in 1972. He retired as a sales manager from Verizon yellow pages after over 30 years of service. In his retirement, Jeff was a substitute teacher in the Brockton school system.
Jeff loved golf and was a longtime member of the Brockton Country Club. He also enjoyed traveling with his family, studying American history and took great pride in landscaping his yard.
Jeff will be remembered as a stubborn, but honest man with a welcoming smile and sharp wit. Most importantly, Jeff was devoted to his family and friends and loved spending time with them.
In addition to his wife Jayne, Jeff leaves two children Kerri Anne Rodenbush of Brockton and Patrick Rodenbush and his girlfriend Jennifer DeAngelis of Washington, DC. He was the brother of Nancy Ambler and her husband Tracy of Savannah, GA; Kathleen Dupuy and her husband Robert of Somerset, MA; John Rodenbush and his wife Elaina of Palm Harbor, FL; and James F.X. Rodenbush and his wife Dawn of So. Yarmouth. He also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Monday 4-8pm. A procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9am for a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10am. Jeff’s family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in his name be made to the Annual Fund at Coyle & Cassidy High School, 2 Hamilton St., Taunton, MA 02780.
