Obituary

Paul J. Couture, beloved husband of the late Paula (Patti) J. (Goulston) Couture, passed away after an illness in Haverhill, MA on Monday, September 4, 2017, at the age of 79. Born in Cambridge, Mass, on January 31, 1938, Paul was the beloved son of the late George and Anna (Ricci) Couture. He worked as a Head Machine Operator for Polaroid Corporation, Waltham for many years. In his free time he enjoyed sailing, and was a life member of the Medford Boat Club, where he played on the men's Bocci team. A former professional singer, Paul sang with the Boston Chorus Pro Musica, was a member of the Florida Philharmonic, and he sang at Tanglewood Festival Chorus. He also sang under the direction of greats like Seiji Ozawa and Leonard Bernstein and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Paul was also a very talented jack-of-all-trades handyman, ready to help anyone that needed his help.

Paul will be sadly missed by his loving children, Juliette Whatley of Springfield, Pamela Zelaya of Medford, Cary Goulston of Clearwater, Florida, Amy Farley of Hampstead, NH and Dana Goulston of Las Vegas; his siblings David Couture of Watertown, Lillian Adams of Billerica, twelve grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Evan Goulston and brother of the late George Couture.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017, from 4 to 7 PM in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, MA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Grace Episcopal Church, 160 High Street, Medford on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
