Obituary

Karen P. Sullivan, 62, of Fall River, MA passed away on September 1, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in New Bedford the daughter of George W Sullivan and the late Mary Rosa, she is survived by her siblings: Pamela Miller and Paul Sullivan of LA, and Nancy Sullivan of Dartmouth, MA. She was predeceased by her brother Kevin Sullivan.
She is also survived by her aunt Alice Frates, several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was a graduate of Dartmouth High and UMass Dartmouth. She was a teacher in the Fall River Diocese and in the Providence Diocese. She worked in Berkley as a Children’s Librarian. For the past 17 years she worked for St Anne’s Hospital as a switchboard operator.

She had served on the Board of Word Inc. in Fall River, Attleboro Community Counsel and was appointed by Governor Devall Patrick to serve on the Board at the New Bedford Dept. of Transitional Assistance Advisory Board.

Her hobbies included cooking, reading and being with friends and family.

Karen and her family want to thank Dr. Nancy McKinney and all the nurses and staff at the Hudner Oncology Center at St. Anne’s Hospital and for the excellent care they provided her during her cancer journey.

Memorial Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 12 Noon at Holy Trinity Parish, 951 Stafford Rd. Fall River, MA.
