Obituary

Brenda Jean Stephenson was born on February 25, 1958 to the late Ison and Elizabeth Stephenson and into a family consisting of two brothers Harold and Terry Stephenson both of which have preceded her in death, three sisters Juanita Matthews (CA), Vickie Stephenson (MA), and Veronica Stephenson (MA) completed the family. Being from a Bible-based family in which songs of praise and prayers filled their home, Brenda knew the Lord and the power of prayer.
Born and raised in Bridgeton, New Jersey where she attended Gouldtown School and graduated From Cumberland Regional High School in 1978. Shortly after completing high school, Brenda wanted to certify her ability to do hair so she attended Cumberland County Technical Institute for Cosmetology. Some things come naturally people and she was a natural at doing hair.
Brenda also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends just as much as doing hair. Her cooking was extraordinary and her talent was surpassed only by the culinary gift of her mentor; her mother. When they were in the kitchen together, food magic happened. Most of all she loved the time spent with her loved ones but especially her grandchildren.
Brenda is truly missed by her family and will continue to live through her three children: Stephen Stephenson (NJ), Frank and daughter-in-law Chelsie Stephenson (MA) and her baby girl Jahlah Hodge (MA) for whom her love, dedication and support was without question unconditional. She simply wanted them happy. Her grandchildren: Khadijah Holloway, Cache Johnson, Nicole Randolph, Jahmier Stephenson, Stephen Stephenson, and Kyren Stephenson. A sister-in-law Minnie Stephenson (married to Harold Stephenson NJ). And lastly, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins that will miss her tremendously.

…Until We Meet Again
Those special memories of you
Will always bring a smile
If only I could have you back
For just a little while
Then we could sit and talk again
Just like we used to do
You always meant so very much
And always will do too
The fact that you’re no longer here
Will always cause me pain
But you’re forever in my heart
Until we meet again
