CHICOPEE – Patricia A. "Pat" (Aubuchon) Meyer, 76, of the Fairview section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Friday, August 4, 2017. She passed peacefully at the Holyoke Health Care Center. She was born in Leominster, Massachusetts on April 10, 1941, a beloved daughter of the late John P. and Lillian P. (Lavoie) Aubuchon. She was raised and schooled in Leominster and moved to the Fairview section of Chicopee around 1953. She was employed for over 25 years as a sales clerk and cashier at the former Zayre Department Store which later became Ames Department Store on Memorial Drive in Chicopee. Pat was an avid Red Sox fan and during her leisure time, she enjoyed bingo, crocheting, reading, outlet shopping, going to Hampton Beach and spending time with her family and her many friends. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a longtime communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. She leaves her loving daughter and son-in-law, Denise M. Thetreault and her husband, Bob, of Mint Hill, NC; her granddaughter, Melissa Zelek and her husband, Derek, of East Longmeadow; her loving sister, Ola Herbert of South Hadley; her sister-in-law, Shirley Aubuchon of South Hadley; and her nephew, Donald Dec of Chicopee. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving brother, Richard Aubuchon who was Called Home on February 10, 2016; her loving brother-in-law, Phillip Herbert who was Called Home on December 19, 2013; and her nephew, Jeffrey Dec who was Called Home on October 26, 1989. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, August 11, 2017 beginning at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Rose Cemetery, 226 Granby Road, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
