Obituary

WORCESTER-Rita Marilyn (Galvin) Adamski, 80, a loving mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Francis R. Adamski on January 26, 2016. She is survived by two daughters, Maryanne P. Adamski of Worcester and Stephanie A. Madden and her husband Kevin of Shrewsbury; two granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Kristina Madden of Shrewsbury. She also leaves two sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Phillips of Auburn and M. Frances Bowler of Arlington; and several nephews and nieces.

Marilyn was born in Worcester, daughter of John F. and Mary T. "Jessie" (Danahy) Galvin and graduated from St. Stephen’s High School and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. Marilyn started her nursing career at St. Vincent Hospital and later worked at Wyman-Gordon Company in Grafton as an industrial nurse for many years before retirement. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling, especially her annual trips to Disney World.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, July 29 from 9:30-10:30am at Callahan Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn, MA 01501 with entombment in the mausoleum at St. John's Cemetery.
