Anna M. (O'Neil) Loughnane, 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 21, 2017 with her family by her side at Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation on Plantation St. where she resided since 2009. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard F. Loughnane, Sr. in 1980. She leaves her daughter Carole Todd of Scarborough, ME; her son Bernard F. Loughnane, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Worcester; 4 grandchildren: Maureen Greene, Meaghan Garick, Sarah Loughnane and Patrick Loughnane; and 3 great grandchildren: Alexia, Zella and Max.
Ann was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of Henry and Bessie (Perry) O'Neil. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and a true friend to all who had the great pleasure of knowing her. She lived a big and beautiful life and she loved being with her family and friends during summer vacations in Biddeford Poole, ME. She was a friend to all animals, and couldn’t resist taking in strays and feeding any neighborhood creature that crossed her path. Her warm hugs and infectious smiles will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 9-11am at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. A funeral mass will follow at 11:30am at Our Lady of Providence Parish at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 228 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
