Obituary

Worcester: Edna M. (Rosen) Salvatore Crouse, 80, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husbands Lowell Crouse in 2016, and John Salvatore Jr. in 2005. She was predeceased by a son - John Salvatore III, and leaves a son Jesse Salvatore and wife Kathy Moulton of Florida; a daughter Cheryl Monroe and husband Thomas Dill of Colorado; daughter Cathy Salvatore of Millbury, and son-in-law Ken Ethier of Charlton; eight grandchildren: Kenneth Ethier, Cole Ethier, Kyle Ethier, Keyla Salvatore, Thomas A. Dill, Tiffany Stamas and husband Glenn, Alex Dill and wife Jessica, and Ryan Dill and wife Rachel; four great-grandchildren: Aydreanna and Aliya Zona, and Caleb and Mason Dill; a sister Bernice Roach; sister-in-law Ursula Rosen; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers: John Walter, Carl and his wife Ann, Robert, and Henry Rosen; and her sister Gertrude and husband Charles Morin, sister Bertha and husband Vincent Campbell; and brother-in-law Francis Roach.

Edna was born in Worcester, daughter of the late C.G. Walter and Alma (Bernas) Rosen. She worked for many years in manufacturing and electronics in the Worcester County area and later as a personal care assistant. She was a 34 year member of the Fairlawn United Methodist Church in Shrewsbury serving as Chairperson, Administrative Board member for the fall fair, Friendship Circle member, and Board Secretary. She was also a member of the Shrewsbury Ecumenical Council, past member of the USCG Auxiliary Flotilla, and an ardent fundraiser for the MA Professional Truck Drivers Association charities, benefiting St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. at Nordgren Funeral Home, 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home and burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
