Hubert, Dieter H., of Pinehurst, NC, formerly of Ft. Myers, FL and Billerica, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Born in Hirschberg, Germany 88 yrs. ago to Paul and Frieda (Berta) Hubert. Dieter was a Volkswagen auto mechanic for the Charles St. Garage, Boston and later the owner of the Pond St. Garage, Billerica. He was a detail officer for the Billerica Police Dept. and prior to his retirement he was employed at the Boston Globe in the Westwood and Billerica Plants working as a security guard. He is survived by his second wife Mary (Turner) Rose and his cherished children; Christine Schelinski and her husband, Eric of Peine, Germany, Monica Connolly and her husband, Michael of Milton and Michael Hubert of Bonita Springs, FL. Loving “Opa” to James and Karina Connolly. Brother of the late Kaethe Hubert. He had many hobbies which included riding his motorcycle, woodworking, reading, traveling and playing Yahtzee. His travels took him to China, France, Australia and many times back to Germany to see family and friends. He was also an avid Bruins fan and most recently a NC Hurricanes fan. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church, Milton on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 9:00AM. Visiting 8:00 to 8:30 AM at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, prior to Mass. Friends and family are invited. Interment at Milton Cemetery.
