Johnny DeWayne "Wayne" Cook, 57, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017.
He was born February 19, 1960 in New Port News, Virginia to Johnny Edward Cook and Patricia Ann Medders.
He was a resident of Fernandina Beach since 1972. He was a 1976 graduate of Fernandina Beach High School. at which time he entered the U. S. Army where he was an airplane and helicopter mechanic from 1977 until 1983. Upon returning home in 1984, he worked in carpentry and as a airplane and helicopter mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Johnny E. Cook and brother, Gregory A. Cook.
Wayne is survived by his mother, Patricia A. Cook; sisters, Cynthia D. Cook, Kathy Cook Langford (Robert Langford); nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at Legacy Baptist Church on Nassauville Road.
