Our dear mother Virginia M. (Ahearn) Mahoney of West Roxbury passed away on May 26th, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Mahoney, retired Boston Police Detective and former president of Boston Police Detectives Benevolent Society. Loving mother of the late Dr. Daniel G. Mahoney DDS and his wife Claudia of Osterville, Susan Mahoney of Jamaica Plain, Nancy Tisei and her husband Ralph of West Roxbury, Stephen Mahoney and his wife Carole of Mill Valley, California, Peter Mahoney of Osterville, Jane Lynch and her husband Michael of West Roxbury and Patrick Mahoney and his wife Cynthia of Northampton. Devoted Nanna to Megan, Neil, Colleen, Emily, Elizabeth, Maria, Brendan, Erin, Sean, Justine, Daniel, Maggie, Delia and Rosie. Loving Great Nanna to Karina, Eva, Genevieve and Celia. Ginny was a member of the St. John Chrysostom Arts & Crafts group and the West Roxbury Art Association. She loved sewing, gardening, crocheting, painting, genealogy, a good mystery and the New England Patriots.
Family and friends are invited to share memories at the Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street in West Roxbury, Thursday June 1st from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral mass celebrated Friday June 2nd at 11:00AM at the Holy Name Church in West Roxbury. Burial at Mount Benedict Cemetery.
