Obituary

Patrick died at home in New York City on Christmas Morning, December 25, 2016.

He was born on January 9, 1942, to Patrick and Eileen Devine, in Brierfield, Lancashire, England.

Patrick is survived by his spouse Joe Zaloom, his sister Patricia Geister and her husband Bob, his brother John Devine and his wife Janice and his niece Amanda Baciarelli and her husband Marco.

Patrick was an assiduous student and top of his class throughout his school years. He graduated from King’s College, Newcastle, University of Durham, England, achieving a B.A. with special studies in Economics and French. His excellence as a student led to a very successful career with Green Giant in Canada and latterly with Lord and Taylor, New York, where he served as Vice President for Human Resources until his retirement in 2003.

The enthusiasm and effort evident in Patrick’s professional and academic life were complemented by his love of tennis and squash. He was a prior member of the New York Athletic Club, a member of its Squash Team and an enthusiastic and industrious participant in the Provincetown, Mass. Tennis Club where he served as vice president.

For the past 25 years, Joe and Patrick spent their holidays and summers with their Provincetown family and friends. Patrick began every day he could at the Tennis Club…..his second home.

Patrick will be greatly missed for his courage, his kindness and his love for his family and friends.
