Obituary

Paul Ralph Parrotta, of Watertown and formerly of Cambridge, MA, passed away peacefully at home in Watertown on May 6th after a lengthy illness. He had battled for life courageously, with his characteristically unflagging optimism and strong religious faith.
Paul was born in Boston on December 27, 1949, son of Laurelle Baron Parrotta and the late Professor Ralph P. Parrotta. The eldest of four, he grew up in Lawrence and Andover, MA, and graduated from Central Catholic School in Lawrence in 1968, after which he attended Merrimack College, where he majored in English. Paul lived and worked in Boston and Cambridge for most of his adult life. He was beloved by his family - and the many true friends with whom he shared his life - for his natural generosity, kindness, genuine interest in and concern for others, his unique perspectives on the world and on life, his strength of character and resilience, creative expression and characteristic sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know him, but his spirit will remain always.
