HATHAWAY, Mary C. (Morrissey) Lovingly Remembered 89 of Dedham, passed away April 29th surrounded by her loving family. Born in Co. Galway Ireland in 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Kenny) Morrissey. Mary was predeceased by her husband Alfred, daughter Catherine, son Joseph, grandson Joseph Jr, sisters Francie and Bridie, and brother Mikie Joe. Mary immigrated from Galway, Ireland in 1947 at the age of 19. She settled in Boston and met her future husband Alfred whom she married in 1956. They moved to Dedham in 1960 to raise their 10 children. Mary had a love for her family, her Catholic faith, knitting, and bingo. She was the past president of the Galway Ladies Association, St. Susanna's Womens Club, former member of the Celtic Camogie Club, the current Honorary Mayor of Dedham, and a long time bingo player. She was also a long time town meeting representative, a member of the Dedham High School Boosters Club, Dedham Senior Center Club, and President of Meme's fans on Facebook. She is survived by 8 children: Joanne her husband Michael Curry of East Hampstead NH, Diane and her husband Tom Gibbons of Bellingham, MA, Kevin and his wife Janice of Attleboro MA, Suzanne and her husband Jack Kelliher of Dedham, MA, Ronnie and his wife Kelly of Dedham, MA, Jacqueline and her husband Dr. Matthew Tobin of Belmar, NJ, Dorothy of Dedham, MA, and Christopher and his wife Kathleen of Franklin MA. She is also survived by her sisters Margaret, Katie, Annie, and Eileen, her brothers Bill, Sean, Mikie, and Joseph, her son in law John Durkin, daughter in law Diane Hathaway, as well as her many nieces and nephews in Boston, Chicago and Ireland. Beloved "Meme' to her 22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, she was adored by all. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Dedham High School Boosters Scholarship Fund, 231 Bussey St, Dedham, Ma. 02026 Visiting Hours Thursday May 4th, 4-8pm at St. Susanna's Church, 262 Needham St. Dedham, Ma. Funeral mass Friday May 5th, 9am at St Susanna's Church. Family and friends kindly invited. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
