Lawrence “Lourenco” Amaral, 88, passed away at home in Medford on December 25th, 2010. He was born in Portugal on June 10th, 1922 to his parents Carlos and Lidia (Amelia) Amaral. Lawrence was raised in Portugal and has been a resident of Medford for the past 43 years. For many years he worked as an assembler for the Orion Research Company in Cambridge. He was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his family and spending many summers in Wareham. He is survived by his wife Odete (Adriano) Amaral; by his daughters, Lena Amaral of Woburn and Diane Herter and her husband Bill of West Palm Beach, Florida; by his grandchildren Renee’, Danielle and Gina and by his great grandchildren Gabriella, Fiona and Djavan. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St.,, Malden on Thursday December 30th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday December 29th from 4-8 PM.
