Brockton - Cathy (Janes) Applebaum of Brockton passed away at home peacefully on October 20, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Cathy is the beloved daughter of John and the late Cynthia Janes, of Abington and the most loving sister to Cynthia Clinton and Patricia Janes. She is also survived by her son, Matthew and his wife Brea and her grandchildren Madison, Dyllan and Matthew, whom she adored, also her long time partner and fiancé Robert Pomerleau. She is also known as Auntie to Michael Rotatori, Patrick Clinton and Hailey Daynes.
Cathy is a 1977 graduate of Abington High School and Labarron School of Cosmetology. She was an employee with SDI Technologies as an assembler since 1996.
Surviving cancer in 2000, she walked, each year for "Making Strides", raising thousands of dollars for cancer research.
Cathy enjoyed life, family, baking, camping, friends and her gorgeous flowers. She will be forever missed.
Her memorial service will be held Wednesday October 27 at 7 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 4-7 PM.
