The Douglas girls loved our cousin Richard G. Halle. We are incredibly sad right now. We spent many summer adventures with Richard and the Halle family at Moosehead Lake, Sebago and Pequaket (where we met Lucine and their beautiful daughters. Our mother, Dolores Halle Douglas, also loved Richard and Richard was there for us when she died. When we moved to Ipswich, Richard would come by, pick anyone up who was home and off we went just riding around and chit chatting. Richard loved telling me about movies he saw and he talked about the radio he made from scratch - which actually worked - he was very technically talented. Richard had many sad burdens that he lived with, but I was happy to see that he attended a church where he made friends and felt welcomed. It was my good fortune that we spent an evening with Richard when my husband and I visited Massachusetts in August of 2021. He had retired and although he seemed healthy physically he did admit he was having day-to-day challenges. I could tell he was sad. He loved his daughters and grandchildren and spoke of them proudly. He had a difficult time overcoming his sadness and I so wanted to help him. He had some pretty good ideas that helped me. One time we were talking on the phone and I mentioned how quickly packaged lettuce goes bad and he told me to open it and let it air - it worked! I know he loved his dogs and walked a lot with them. Richard was a good person and there was a lot of love in him, too. My last contact with Richard was by text - he was checking in to see how I was doing - I believe it was in February 2022. It will be hard for me to visit Massachusetts again and for him to not be there. Sweet dreams, Richard, you deserve them. With much love, your cousin Patricia Ann Aguirre If someone in the family would like to share my thoughts at Richard's memorial, that would be wonderful. Also, if anyone would like to call and talk with me my # is 805-208-0193 and address is 6047 Atlas St., Las Cruces, New Mexico 88012

I am shocked and saddened to hear of our neighbor, Rich's, passing. I experienced him as a caring person who often often said, "If we don't look out for each other, who will?" As fellow dog owners, we sometimes chatted as he made his rounds in the park with his two, then just Jack, dogs. I had previously met some of Rich's church friends who had recently become worried, not having seen or heard from him in several days. He loved his church. I am grateful that they saw to little Jack's needs. Rich would have appreciated that. My sincere condolences to Rich's family.
