My prayers go out to the entire Perez family. Pete and I met the night before we entered West Point. We then formed our band, Blank Space, and made much music and memories! I am thankful we got to connect on a business trip I took at the end of 2018. Pete was a great friend and he will be missed dearly.

I served with Pete on the Board of Governors of the West Point Society of New England. Pete was ever a bright, thoughtful, selfless contributor who placed others above himself. We collaborated on many projects, most notably in providing the ethics and leadership presentations to the annual Boy's and Girl's State of Massachusetts. I will miss his humor and initiative. A fellow "tanker" who we all will dearly miss. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Raoul Henri Alcala, USMA 1962

Our deepest sympathies are extended to Pete’s family. I shared cadet life with Pete and played in his cadet hop band “Blank Space” for three years. Steve Sak, Pete’s classmate and band member, reached out to me today with the news. I will always be so proud of and grateful for Pete. His enthusiasm, positive leadership, and example were so impressed upon me during those Academy years. ...and if Pete didn’t tell you, I remain happily married for 34 years to my wife, Blythe, a Wheaton College student that I met with Pete’s help after a show we played in Norton in April of ‘85. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Jeff and Blythe Thompson

Pete was a joy to serve with on the West Point Society of New England Board of Governors. On our board, he proved himself to be a loyal soldier, but also a compassionate and inspiring leader of his programs. He was a gregarious and inclusive voice on our board, who often proposed out of the box ideas to expand the engagement with our alumni community. Although I did not know him well personally, I am crushed by his passing and I will miss him.

We are broken hearted to hear of Pete's passing. Just saw him at Lowe's last month and met him for drinks last summer. He was a train friend of 20 years.... Humorous, hard working, a provider, talented in so many ways...great cook, gardener, and a gracious host. So much to offer and left us too soon. Rest in peace dear Pete. Our deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones. Cindy, George, Jeremy and Joshua Hazerjian

I'm stunned by the loss of Pete and my heart breaks for his loved ones. I worked with Pete for years together at Xaverian Brothers H.S. where he selflessly gave his time to help advance the mission on Xaverian. He was always providing us sharp insights to ways that we could improve and grow as a school. A lot of people say they want to help, but Pete was there in so many ways to actually be there and lead. His insight, passion, dedication, friendliness will be sorely missed. Peace Pete.

Pete was one of my students at Boys State. In recent years, we had worked together to improve the program, and engaged in an ongoing conversation about life and about politics. He helped many young people become better citizens and better people. Very sad. - Larry DiCara

Pete Perez was my roommate my junior year at West Point and a very devoted friend throughout my cadetship and adult life. He was very generous in supporting West Point causes and his USMA classmates and especially his company mates in Company E, 1st Cadet Regiment. He personally supported me when my late wife recently passed away and made a contribution to our USMA Class of 1985 Class Fund in her name. In our hour of need, we are all hurting because of his untimely passing and I will miss him dearly! Pete, Be Thou at Peace!
