Dear Maryjane and Lord Family, Kindly accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences on the loss of your Husband, Best friend, Father, and Grandfather. Jim was a very good friend who I had the pleasure of knowing for the last fifteen years. He was a down to earth guy who loved the game of golf as well as the group of guys he played with. If the was a minor problem, Jim would come out with his patented "oh well" we can handle that, and it was problem solved. I shall miss Jim and so shall our group of "legends"...I hope he finds a nice par3 high above the clouds.

We were so saddened to hear the news of our Uncle Jim. What a special man he was who loved his family so very much and was loved by so many. So many happy memories of family gatherings and visits. Rest In Peace Uncle Jim. Our love to Maryjane, Susan, Jim, Michelle and your families.

Jim Was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He was truly a "special" man. I feel privileged to have known him and I was lucky enough to have played golf with him regularly. Jim had an impact on my life, and I am a better person for it. Rest in peace Jim and God bless Mary Jane and family.

Tears welled up when I read of Jim's passing! I share in the sadness that Mary Ann and all of the family must feel right now. I knew Jim back in the '80s when he was XO of MCB 12 and I was the S1 and later S2. XO is the toughest job in a Seabee battalion and Jim handled it admirably. It was a pleasure to report to him. He was fair, savvy and possessed a balance of amicability with Navy professionalism. I can still see his smile and hear his laugh in the ward room staff meetings! Jim helped me make CDR despite my pressing personal family issues at the time and I'm grateful to him for that. Jim, you're gone too soon! I wanted to golf with you on my next trip Northeast but the Good Lord had other plans. To MaryAnn and family... Jim was my friend and I mourn with you. Heaven awaits our reunions again.

I meant Maryjane not MaryAnn. Jim would have scolded me for that!

There was a time when Jim was more like a big brother than an uncle. He gave good advice sometimes humorous. In our Christmas exchange almost three years ago after I retired and complained about finding a new job that appears that companies have a bias against hiring highly paid old fat guys. Jim replied: Maybe if you wore a Santa Clause outfit to your interview they would recognize your value ?? I still laugh to this day.

Jim was a good friend in all my Navy days. Always a gentleman who worked very hard at what he did. All of us who new him in the reserves will miss him.

Jim was a great guy, a valuable team member in his career and most importantly, a friend. Over the years, Jim always sent me birthday greetings since our birthdays were only days apart. I was truly sad when he developed lung cancer but like me, he seemed to be doing OK. Consequently, his loss was a great shock. Rest in peace my friend. Les

When I am talking with anyone about Jim, I tell them the best description is that he was a Really Good Guy. I always looked forward to our time on the golf course, the banter, and golf "words" shared on mostly the bad shots. Jim was so much more than an uncle to me, I will miss him. Condolences to Maryjane, Susan & Brian, Jimmy & Donna, and Michelle & Chris, your families, friends and anyone lucky enough to know Jim.

I am deeply sadden by Jim’s passing. All of my interaction with Jim has been at Poquoy Brook Golf Course. It was roughly 10 years ago Jim joined our Sunday golf family. We knew Jim was the commish of the Legends. He was delighted he could just show and golf, eat half of a grilled chicken salad and take the rest home for lunch the next day. We all got a kick out of Jim. Ever the optimist. I looked forward to rounds with him. This past year I was able to join his legends group on Tuesday and got to see him more. He was a treasure to be sure. Yesterday 20 of us hosted a glass in memory of Jim at PB. Multiple stories were told. We all loved him dearly. Jim put a smile on all our faces. He is already deeply missed.

I will have great memories of Jim a dedicated team member managing the engineer department at Shaws. He cared for all we worked with and was always upbeat no matter how difficult task he accomplished it with a smile. The friendships he developed continued well after Shaws as he was reason that we all stayed connected as if we were his extend family. That spirit will be irreplaceable. To Maryjane and your family our condolences and best wishes. John And Pat
