My Dear Friend Has moved away, up into Glory to abide and stay Beyond the clouds, into the blue and eternal Where no tears flow, and pain can never grow I’m keenly aware my friend is gone, but her amazing life is living on How did I know the things I’d discover by those many Sunday phone calls? And how after Dot called, her voice had always cheered me up There was that connection of age and faith, of friendship, years ago And how could I know, we’d only have a little while To enjoy her stories and picture her smile Oh Lord, thank You for the life of Dot, for all the joy her friendship brought And that laugh! A “touch stone” for me – to “rejoice and be exceeding glad”( Matthew 5:12) There is something to be said of a life that gives, open and true in how she lived Her name means “God’s Divine Gift” and so she was!
