I remember Mike as a light hearted guy and a good firefighter on E-42. He organized our softball team made up of district 9 and district 5 guys, and named it “9 to 5”. To the family of Michael R. Mason. It was a pleasure having Michael as our neighbor for the past five years. He was a very kind and friendly person. May the Lord, Jesus, bless and console his family. May Michael rest in the peace of Christ. Peace, Pat & Jim McDonald

I hadn't been in touch with Mike in many yrs, We worked together @ the big house. I'll never forget our infamous Montreal "brawl" trip. His Halloween pumpkin carvings were extraordinary. What a pleasant, nice guy and competent firefighter. My condolences to his entire family. I'll treasure my memories of him.

My deepest sympathy to the Mason family. As a friend during our childhood, I have great, vivid memories of playing wiffle ball and basket ball in Michael's backyard, and we had so much fun playing street hockey around the the neighborhoods. Though we lost touch over the years, I was incredibly proud when he became a member of the BFD! Rest in peace Michael.

Most sincere condolences to Mike's family and to all relatives and friends from the many Hawco cousins in Newfoundland. We are years, generations and miles apart but the "connections" remain and we genuinely share your loss and sorrow. Ray Hawco (first cousin of Mike's dad who spent much time with the Mason family at 3 Puritan Ave in Dorchester during the 1950s)
