I am so sad this news. Joyce was a wonderful friend, who I enjoyed teaching with for many years. Joyce was full of energy and always ready to have fun. I will always remember the many fun times that we had together and all that she taught me when I started teaching. My sympathies go out to all of Joyce's family and close friends. Sending lots of love!

We were so very shocked and saddened to hear of Joyce's passing. We all pretty much started teaching together and remember her smile, laugh, and wonderful way with all the children she touched deeply. The world was certainly a better place with Joyce in it. Our deepest sympathy, Linda & Joe Tartufo

Oh to my dear friend, Joyce’s family, I met this beautiful woman at the Norton Senior center in my Zumba class; and she immediately stole my heart with her upbeat nature, her contagious laugh, her wonderful dancing skills, and her amazing voice, as we sang while we danced. I am so sad that Joyce has passed, and I feel so lucky that I had a visit with her just before Covid started. She was a wonderful person, and filled with so much energy and love. She will be missed by so many people. You will all be in my heart

Please accept my condolences...I knew "Miss Atkinson" as my first grade teacher at Park Row and can easily recall her laughter teaching in the classroom. She was kind enough to always check in on both me and my brother as we grew older..an example of her character. The students whose lives she impacted will certainly be better off for their interactions with her. Please know she has been in my thoughts, along with Mrs. Farinella, the past few days.

To Joyce's family. I don't know if any of you will read this. I was a roommate with Joyce at NEC. Along with Bev Granger. I just learned Joyce passed away. My husband ( also a NEC graduate-Michael Gallagher) moved back to New Hampshire. We now live in Londonderry, NH. I was hoping to get together with Joyce and Bev but when I called the NEC alumni office I very sadly learned that Joyce passed away. Joyce was such fun. We spent a summer working on Cape Cod together. Going out almost every night to have some fun. Great memories! I knew her older sister and wish her well at this holiday time. Best to Joyce's family.
