While we were blessed to have met Jack only a few times, we can see through his family what I good man he was. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.

Our deepest sympathies and condolences to the MacDonald family. We’ve had the honor of Mark and Susan’s friendship for years. After reading Jack’s obituary, we now know the origins of Mark’s engaging story telling abilities and passion for family life as his father’s legacy truly lives through him. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so grateful to have met Jack last year and share in your sorrow. My only wish is that I knew him earlier because I love a good story and a good laugh - both of which he seemed to delight in sharing. My heartfelt condolences and much love to you and your family. Love, Kristen (Lauralee's (Jack's cousin) daughter).

Jack is missed here in Dennis. I first met Jack in March 2015 when my husband, Roger, and I had a home inspection for our condo. Roger was busy with the inspector while I chatted in the living room with our realtor Janet, and a stranger, Jack. It occurred to me later that Jack had come downstairs to inspect the new neighbors! From that first meeting, it was obvious Jack was an intelligent, frank man with a sense of humor and a great story teller. Over the next few years, Jack and I had many varied conversations...about the condo, (he served as a trustee many years), his deep pride in being honored by his high school for his athletic abilities, his golf game, his grandchildren, and his expert grocery shopping. We always knew hot weather was only three months away when Jack appeared in shorts! Last year, to write a short profile of Joan and Jack for our condo's newsletter, I was fortunate to sit with them as they reminisced about their courtship and long life together. They are a class act. Joan and Jack were fiercely protective of each other and enjoyed a mutual admiration. Their marriage was a true partnership and my heart goes out to Joan.

Mark your dad introduced you to me at the WHS Hall of fame event. Jack was my next door neighbor on Cypress St during our preschool years. Therefore I will assume we were each others first friends. At the Hall of Fame event, Jack asked me if I remembered eating a mudpie, at the time I didn't recall . However as time went on the memory did come back to me We found a cupcake tin and proceeded to make the most delicious looking mud pies you ever saw! It looked so good that each of us took a bite - we then ran into your grandmother's house where I remember a lot of confusion. The family then moved to west Watertown, and we picked up our friendship again at WHS. My memory of your dads speaking style was slow and deliberate like a southern gentlemen and he seems to always wear a semi smile in his delivery. I remember him as just a wonderful quality guy . You were fortunate to be blessed with a dad like Jackie MacDonald. God Bless your family and may he rest in Peace Bob Kaprielian

I have many cool memories of Uncle Jack thru the decades. An early memory is the many hours of tennis at the Robbins Park (the Farm) tennis courts in Arlington. The tennis craze of the 1970s was underway. My friends and I would get together for hearty exercise, and Uncle Jack was a spirited member of our tennis coterie. He was Uncle Jack to all. One of my friends wrote Uncle Jack from college in Maine. Jack wrote him back. Uncle Jack was one of us - rest well Uncle Jack
