Linda, Sarah, Mark, and I extend our condolences to the Hottleman Family. Tom was such a large presence in our family's life for so many years; from softball, to golf, to the many parties -it was all good and so much fun! We all laughed until our sides hurt! Our daughter, Sarah, became a teacher because of "Uncle Tom". He helped her many times during the course of her career. Tom was there for her at her milestones: graduation, sports, and family functions. We will all miss him. Life will go on, but we just won't laugh as much. God Bless! Kevin Dunfey

Mr. Hottleman was my 9th grade science teacher at Norwood Junior High School South. He tolerated my childish antics and skillfully turned me into an average student. At the time I was only concerned with sports and girls. Mr. Hottleman opened my eyes to new opportunities, and I eventually followed him to Bridgewater State to become a teacher. Fast forward to a few years ago, he and I bumped into each other at a wine tasting. I now work for a winery, as teaching simply did not pay my bills. Mr. Hottleman not only remembered me, but he remembered some old stories from my junior high school days. We quickly connected on social media, where we learned so much about each other. Mr. Hottleman helped me get through a hit and run accident a few years ago. His encouragement and humor were HUGE for me when I was in the rehab hospital and still in a wheelchair. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

God Bless you, Mr. Hottleman you always had a smile on your face in school, despite teaching Science. Thank you for your military service, and am sure you were a good Elk as I have been for 40 years. My Dad also graduated from Hyde Park.

My family, friends, and I had many wonderful times with Tom and his family. Tom was a very engaging person, capable of connecting with people easily and making them feel comfortable and welcome. He was an endless source of funny stories: he had a razor sharp wit. You could count on laughing heartily any time you were with him. He will be missed.

Words cannot express how sad we are to lose such a beautiful man and dear cousin. Our thoughts and prayers are with Joanne, the children and their families. Tom will be remembered as a warm person, compassionate, generous and full of life. He always had a special twinkle in his eye and a hearty laugh. It was always a joy to be in his company. He was so proud of his family and he especially loved to show us photos of his wonderful grandchildren. God bless you Cousin Tommy! We will keep you in our hearts always and we will miss you dearly.

To Joanne and family, there aren’t words to express to all the loss of Tom, my cousin and Godfather. Just know he loved you all so much...that love never dies. Remember the great times, celebrate those things. That is what Tom would want. My heart is heavy, But I know Tom is with his Mom and Dad and Charles and our family that has gone before us...basking in the light of Jesus Christ! God Bless All !!!

I believe I had Mr. Hottleman for Earth Science, his first year teaching at Norwood Junior high school. He was a funny, and engaging teacher. I remember on days we were having a test he would walk into the classroom with a smart Alex grin , wave the test over his head and say "Test Day Is Rest Day People". I have to admit that I stole that frase and used it many times in my 39 years of teaching. Thank you Mr. Hottleman for making learning fun and for being one of the people who inspired me to become a teacher! My condolences to his family and friends. Please know that he had a profound effect on the lives of his students
