My deepest condolences to Doug’s family and friends for your loss. We go back to WHS and even though we only ran into each other occasionally over the years, he will always be one of my favorite high school friends. My heart goes out to all of you.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Wickwire family. Though I hadn’t seen ‘Dougie’ for many many years I’m sure he was the same funny sweet guy he always was. I was so happy when we became ‘friends’ on Facebook just so I could say hi every now and then but he wasn’t online much. The last time we spoke was when someone asked “who is your longest friend from school on FB and do you still talk?” We both laughed because he was mine and I was his. Friends for 65 years ?? I pray he will Rest In Peace and you all find peace as well. God bless ??.

My deepest condolences to the Wickwire family. I worked with Dougy for 22 years out in the field with Comcast, and he always had a positive attitude, telling his jokes, his experiences from work, and vacations to Aruba making the day go by fast. He was a great man, and for me it was a privilege, an honor knowing him, and working with him. He is truly missed.

Maureen and family, I can not go without acknowledging a man I enjoyed knowing. I do the payments from Comcast. I had the privilege of talking to Doug numerous times about payments, which sometimes did not seem to flow well. He was frustrated many times about payments, especially before trips to Aruba. I looked forward to his calls, he just had such a way of being mad nicely. I am so sorry for your loss. The world was a better place with him in it.

Dear Maureen and Family, Dave and I were deeply saddened learning the news of Doug's passing. He was such a good man. He was passionate about his work, Maureen and the kids. He told such wonderful stories about his grandchildren and while doing so had the sparkle of love in his eyes. He is looking down at you all with great pride and love. May the many memories become your treasures for life and help ease the pain. Sincerely, Gail and Dave Hall.

I moved into the neighborhood just over 20 years ago. The first person in the neighborhood to welcome me was Doug. After each snowstorm I would try and beat Doug with my shovel to clear my area but he would always show up with the Backhoe after his contract work was done and after working 20+hours in that seat. He always had a smile on his face and we always had a great conversation about good and bad. I always listened intently because what he said was a life’s lesson. I still can’t believe he is gone and my heart aches for you Maureen. But know this, that from someone else’s perspective what you and Doug had was real and is what the rest of us strive for. Doug recommended Aruba to me as a vacation spot since you two had been going for years and gave me a couple of names to look up there. Well, I looked them up and mentioned Doug and Maureen and I was treated like a king. Each person had love in their eyes when talking about the two of you. Doug would always stop his truck and chat If I was out in the yard doing my chores or if I spotted him On the back deck we would have a loud conversation over a couple of fences. I miss my friend and neighbor especially now with a divided country. What we need is more men like Doug. We are all less off without him.
