Joe was a great friend growing up in Somerville. His nickname was “Speedy” as he was one of the fastest kids in grammar school. Memories of him as an altar boy at St. Benedict’s Church come to mind as well as football games at Glen Park. Everybody wanted Joe as their friend as he was always smiling and upbeat. My condolences to his wife and three boys who he bragged about when we got together later in life.

I was saddened to learn of Joe’s passing. I first met Joe when we were teenagers in York Beach, Maine. Our gang spent many great times together in Maine, Somerville and Watertown, and Joe kept us amused with his wit! He will be missed. My condolences go out to Dodie and their kids on their loss. Joan
