Jutta was such a very special woman, superb geologist and business leader in the geosciences, icon of the Boston geophysical community, and will be greatly missed by many. Dear Mario and Carl, I was stunned to hear that Jutta passed away last week. I have known her since before Carl was born. She and I shared many happy camping trips to the Harbor Islands in the 80s. I spent days walking the beach with her at Sea Island in the 90s. I saw her once or twice a year at luncheons with her geology buddies at Bertucci's after that. We loved geology and working together. She helped me map outcrops on the Boston Harbor Islands and analyze limestone cores from Alexandria, Egypt. She was a loving, thoughtful, intelligent woman. She was very proud of Carl becoming a doctor and marrying Shannon. I will miss her but I have wonderful memories including some rocks we collected on the beach at Sea Island. God Bless Her.
