Carbone family, I am so sorry for this devastating loss. I had re-enacted with Lou for the last 12 years in the YD HRG with my father, and Lou was a very good friend of mine. He had a heart of gold, and would always put others first. Unfortunately, I cannot be with you today as I am in uniform over in Afghanistan, but I sure feel the impact of this tragic loss. Sending heartfelt condolences and the most love I can from half a world away. Your pain and loss is shared more than you know. Cherish each other, and the love you see you today from gathering friends and family. Very respectfully, AJ Ferraro

To the Carbone family Our heartfelt condolences to you for your loss! Louis was one of the first people my son AJ and I met when we joined the YD historical group. He was always full of historical information and made weekend events fun for us. He helped both AJ and I collect the things we needed to be in the group, and was very helpful in helping us understand the differences between the original and reproduction. We will always remember the Collings and Gap events with him! As anyone in the YD will attest, he was a beloved and loyal member, good friend, and will be very much missed by all of us. I know both AJ and I will miss him very much! Respectfully, Allan Ferraro, Sr.

My dear Carbone family, our deepest sympathies. We enjoyed many family events together, Louis will be missed tremendously. I enjoyed hearing about his activities with the re enactors and seeing him in parades. Louis was so talented, building and renovating houses with his Dad, such a special bond. I recall many Christmas Eves with Louis sitting next to his Dad. Louis had a wonderful smirk of a smile, while his Dad laughed hardy at his own jokes. Louis was a quiet, gentle soul the world will miss. With much love, The MacDonald Family

To the parents and family of Louis A. Carbone, Jr., Lou and I used to take turns driving back and forth to Indiantown Gap in Pennsylvania. I don't think I'd seen him since February of 2018. I believe that was the last year they did the Battle of the Bulge event at Fort Indiantown Gap. I know he was having difficulties keeping weight on and said he was seeing a specialist to help him. I'm sorry to see such a wonderful young man's life cut so short. You raised a wonderful son. I feel privileged to have known him. Everyone I knew in the reenacting community liked him. He was genuinely interested in people and getting to know them. I will miss his smile and his laughter. I wish you all peace in knowing that he touched all those around him in a positive and memorable way.
