RIP Charlie. You were one of my favorite customers at the bank in South Medford. You cried when I was leaving and you gave me a snow baby figurine, which I still hold dear to my heart. You said with tears in your eyes "I will miss you, you were like the daughter to me". We kept in touch for a while through letters and pictures of my growing family. You were the best!!!!! Love Ya Charlie.

To Mary and Chucky, I am saddened to hear about the passing of Charlie. I write this with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart. I’m not sure where to start, I have so many memories of Charlie (and the Juffre family). He was like a second Father to me and I know you’ve heard that before so many times. Let’s start with sitting in the kitchen and being treated like a son. And those movies in the back yard after the sun went down (Woody Wood Pecker and the Creature from the Black Lagoon). Or building roads out of wooden shingles he brought home from a job so Stevie and I could play with our toy cars in the garage. Getting to go to the Cadillac dealership while he picked out his new car – so exciting. I could go on and on. What a great neighborhood to grow up in. When I moved to New Hampshire, I would make a point of going by the Juffre house whenever I was back in Medford, to maybe catch Charlie in the yard and get a hug from him. I would tell him I Loved Him and he would tell me the same. With my deepest sympathies to the both of you. Barry Iovanni and his brothers John and Tom

Our Papa. You were a special gift from God. An angel on this earth. Everyone who had the chance to meet you was blessed. You were our rock. We were all so fortunate to have you in our lives for so many beautiful years. You are at peace now in heaven. We will all miss you deeply, but we know you will always be watching over us and will be in our hearts and memories forever.

Dearest Mary, I just learned of Charles' passing and was saddened by the news. I was Dr. Holt's medical assistant for years at 101 Main Street. I remember you both coming in to the office and enjoyed seeing you and talking with you. You were my favorite patients. It's rare coming across such wonderful people as yourselves. I also remember when your son, Stephen passed and how sad and difficult it was for you both. I wrote a poem for you and you both treasured it. I had often thought about you and the times I had working in Medford. May your wonderful memories of your many years together and the love of your family get you through this difficult time. My love and thoughts are with you all. Love Joanne

Dear Mary and Chucky, I just learned of Charlie's passing. Gerry M. was kind enough to inform me, as my family relocated to RI earlier this year, and I'm not around the old neighborhood much anymore. I'm so sorry for your loss. Charlie was an iconic presence on Newbern, Ave., which was such a wonderful place to grow up. I'm sure he'll continue to watch over you from an even better place. All my love, John
