My sincere thoughts and condolences go to Joanne Nickerson and all of her family in their time of grief for the passing of Husband and Father, Ronson Nickerson. Ronson and I were cousins, born in Yarmouth County Nova Scotia in 1946. We lived a stone’s throw apart and were close friends until they moved to Massachusetts and we to Ontario. Although I had previously tried to get in touch with Ronson after many years, unfortunately it wasn’t until his daughter Lisa replied to a message from me on the Ancestry Site that a connection was made and we started to communicate. However, in Lisa’s first reply she told me of Ronsons battle with cancer and the prognosis as well. I now regret that I hadn’t taken the proper path toward finding Ronson much sooner, but I am glad he knew that Lisa and I were communicating and that he seemed quite pleased with that, according to Lisa. That alone provides a degree of solace on my part, and I can only hope that by sharing my thoughts here, they may perhaps have the same for Ronsons family.
