It is with great shock I received the news of Fr Peter Nolan. He worked in my home Parish Nimo before my birthand was a great friend to my parents. When my parents told me all about him, I contacted him and he resatablished communications with the family. He came to NIMO Nigeriain 2011 during the centenary and we were all happy to see him. He later came back in 2014. Fr Peter Nolan was a kind hearted priest of God and he never stopped writting to us till 2 years ago. I became worried about him and had hoped to speak with him soon , only to receive the shocking news of his death. He contributed to my schooling and would always offer his shoulder for me to cry on whenever the need arose. He was indeed Ichie Ozioma of Igbo land because his encounter with my late father during his first visit made my father a devoted christain till his death all because of the teachings of Fr Peter. When in 2006 and 2008 my my lost her children, Fr Peter Nolan never stopped comforting and encouraging her, which helped her to overcame her grieve. May God rest his soul and comfort us all. Amen. I had the privilege of meeting Father Nolan when I was only 18 years old in Ghana. He played an extraordinary role in my life as a Guardian and a Father figure. As someone who grew up without a Father, meeting Father Nolan was an answer to my prayers for a paternal figure in my life. He had a great sense of humour and would refer to himself as Kwaku Bediako because he believed he was born to fight other people's battles, and he did fight my battles. Father Nolan went above and beyond to support me in my education, paying for my university tuition and covering all the expenses that came with it. When I decided to travel abroad after completing my studies, he flew to Ghana to bid me farewell and cover my travel expenses. While living in Germany, Father Nolan regularly checked up on me and was overjoyed to learn that I was pursuing my master's degree. He even offered to support me financially until I was stable. When I graduated, he called to congratulate me and said, "You're a man now, Dennis." But, I know that I am the man I am today because of him. Rest in peace, Father Nolan. You are an answered prayer in my life, and I will always be grateful for the significant impact you made on me.

I was always proud to call Peter my uncle. He was a great friend and family member to have. I know he helped, supported and touched the hearts of so many people over the years and we always both shared our love of helping people and of counselling. I will always treasure my memories of him both as a child on our walks down the pier in Dun Laoghaire and Bray and my visit to Boston in my 20s when we had lots of a great chats and laughs. I know Peter is up there now, looking down and fixing things for us all in heaven. You'll be sorely missed Peter x

I WOULD LIKE TO MENTION THE GENOSIS OF THE CALLING FOR Fr.Peter's calling,as a young boy and altar server, He told me it while serving mass He got the calling. We were on a camping holiday in Arklow when He phoned the order and was given the O'K.to join. in 1948 to go to Rockwell College to continue his studies. We approached a farmer to allow us to set our camp in his field ,and he said "remember the old wexford name SINNOT and you may stay."He was a tower of strength and a born leader of men. He once said that in Biafra as his church was bombed He never nearer to GOD THAN ANY OTHER TIME . Sleep well Brother you are sadly missed.

Father Peter is my uncle and more than that was a great friend . Peter married myself and my wife Susan along with my other uncle father Fintan whelan . Peter came home to his native Ireland every year as long as I can remember. It was not always a happy occasion as Peter had often to celebrate at funerals , even his own parents and brother . Peter worked tirelessly all his life for people in many countries. Peter introduced us his nephews and nieces to many beautiful people from over the world . He brought an African priest to our house when I was a child . This was at a time when there were not many African people living in this country . This had a very special influence on our lives and helped us understand the importance of getting to know other cultures in different countries . This has helped me in my life and it actually was a big part in pushing me in a direction where I now give my spare time to help others . Peter’s dad the late Patrick Nolan would be very proud of his eldest son . Patrick as a young man represented his work colleagues and helped them get working conditions that did not exist back then . Peter obviously took examples from his late dad in his life . Patrick also played a big part in 1916 and 1922 making this great republic. Something father Peter was very proud of . Peter left a big impression on me and many of my friends who he met over my younger years. He actually showed many of us that priests were human and understood us young folk back then . My sincere condolences to my mother maureen( peters sister) and peters brothers Brian , pat and his sister Eileen as well as all his nieces , nephews extended family members and friends all over the world . RIP Father Peter

Fr Peter Nolan CSSp was a great missionary Priest. I helped him in Most Precious Blood Parish, Hyde Park for a few summers and I enjoyed his company. He was busy building up the Parish School and making the children of African immigrants very welcome there as he loved the African people. His missions to Nigeria and to Ghana were very sucessful.Today they are sending missionaries all over the world.St Teresa of Liseaux wasn't attracted by the idea of eternal rest. She said she would spend Eternity helping us on earth.I imagine Fr Peter being busy and happy doing the same.

Over thirty-five years ago Father Nolan organized the Holy Ghost Committee, which included parishioners from St. Theresa Parish, West Roxbury, Most Precious Blood Church, Hyde Park, St. Pius X Church, Milton, and others. Father Nolan along with his Committee had an Annual Benefit Dance at the Irish Social Club, West Roxbury, to raise money for the Holy Ghost Fathers Missions. I was the secretary on his Committee, and I told him over the phone just before he passed away that I enjoyed working with him for 35 years and that I wished I could work for him for another 35 years. He was truly a wonderful priest and Holy Ghost Father.

I can remember when Father Nolan came to West Roxbury. He became friends with my mom(Peggy)and dad(Mike). Many Saturday evenings he would come to dinner at our house. I was in the third grade at St.Theresa's and can remember his yellow station wagon being parked down by the Chapel. Father was a great friend of our family.

Deep sorrow to the family and friends of Fr. Nolan. I first met him in 2017 on a trip from Boston to Ireland called the Boston Gathering. He took us to Rockwell College in Cashel, Tipperary where we toured the school. During our visit, he shared so much of the history of Ireland. It was a trip to remember and both he and Richie Gormley made it a trip to remember. Rest in peace, Fr. Nolan.

I have very fond memories of Fr. Nolan, which started when I was a teen. You could always see Fr Nolan walking Centre Street, always willing to lend an ear, tell you a story, which would always have a message. I Thank You for all the times you shared your wisdom with me when I was troubled. I know you did receive a calling from the Lord, you never turned anyone away, I know you are in our Father's house. God Bless, Prayers for your Family & Friends

I have happy memories of Fr. Peter Nolan during my brief stay with him at Blessed Sacrament parish helping him out with daily masses following my introduction to him by my niece Cecilia. We went out couple of times for dinner and Fr. Nolan told me many interesting stories filled with so much information. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace and May God console all who mourn him. RIP Fr. Nolan
