Dear family and friends of Tom’s, On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Tom’s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow “Bubblehead” leaves on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor in the U.S. Submarine Service during WWII. To our “Brother-of-the-Phin” we say, “Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas.” Thank you for your service to our country. “May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV). Jim Sandman, FTC(SS) Ret. National Chaplain USSVI.

12/19/2021 “Stinky” Sullivan
Boston, Mass, USA
Worked with Tom in the early 1970’s I came into roll call one night and had just eaten a big meal loaded with garlic. Well, he gave me the nickname “Stinky Sullivan” which stayed with me for several years. His son Todd even refers to me as “Stinky”. My new name faded after a few years but Tom always remembered it and called me “Stinky” whenever he saw me. I considered it an honor then….and now! Great guy and an outstanding cop who walked a beat and truly cared about the people of Boston. My condolences to his family. He will be missed by many.
