It is with deep sadness I learned today of Bernies death, although we hadn't met for many years (life is like that) we shared our classroom and teenage years and I remember Bernie B with great fondness and some priceless memories. There were seven Bernies in our class of 30 or so, all born in the centenary year of our saint's birth and we shared that name with some amusement. So sad to hear of your passing Bernie B but you live in my memories and heart, forever vibrant, young, caring and fun RIP from Bernie Courtney,

I was so sorry to hear the sad news of Bernie’s passing, from Breege her great friend for the past 40 years. We all worked in Baghdad, back in the carefree days when we partied for Ireland! Bernie was larger than life and so much fun. I enjoyed hearing about her and her subsequent life with Paul, from Breege, with whom I subsequently ended up working in NYC, after Baghdad. I offer my deepest sympathy to Paul, the Coleman family and to Marianne and the Brett family. My thoughts are with you all at this very sad time. Rest in peace Bernie.
