Roberta was one of the most wonderful people I have ever had the honor of knowing, working for, and having in my corner more times than I could ever count. The world has lost a true angel in my former supervisor, Roberta Canto of the Boston Police Dept. Roberta was the absolute epitome of class, poise, elegance, diligence, fairness, strength, and beauty both inside and out. She got me through college, she was there so many times to talk me off the ledge whether it be due to my mom making me crazy, or a someone at work being difficult. She was there for each of us, a shoulder to cry on, a shoulder to lean on, and a shoulder to laugh on. Words can never truly express the absolute positive effect this woman had on me. And don't think she was a pushover! She put her foot up my ass many times! LOL She taught us all the meaning of resilience and hard work, she taught us graciousness when we'd want to wring someone's neck out of frustration, she taught us that no matter how big the pile, there really was an end in sight. She was a Mom who absolutely loved her family, and treated us like her adopted kids! I made lifelong friends with her and our crew, and I can't ever thank her for all she meant, all she was and all she did for me. To my former crew, we had THE BEST the department had to offer and we were so blessed to have had her! RIP Roberta, you will be terribly missed.

I have known Roberta since we were in 2nd grade together. We met back up in high school, became best of friends and shared our teen years together. I haven't seen Roberta in a couple of years, but have had fond memories of her. Condolences to the family and sorry I will be unable to attend the service, but my sympathy and love goes out to the family.
